Abidjan, February 24, 2017 – The Director General of TRANSCO CLSG says the electricity interconnection project for Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea has the full support of the donors including the World Bank, European Investment Bank (EIB), the African Development Bank and the German Development Bank (KfW).
Mr. Mohammed M. Sherif and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TRANSCO CLSG, Amidou Traore, accompanied by the Senior Procurement and Contract Management Specialist, Mohamed Keita paid a week-long working visit to Brussels, Frankfort and Luxembourg to engage key stakeholders including the EIB and KfW. The objective of the mission was to discuss issues relating to the financing gap and other procurement related issues that are crucial to the successful outcome of the project.
While on their way to Frankfurt and Luxembourg, Mr. Sherif and his Procurement Specialist made a stop in Brussels where they met with officials of TRACTEBEL Belgium, an Owner’s Engineer responsible for the supervision of the EPC contractors under the CLSG project.
In the meeting, the General Manager was assured by the Director General of TRACTEBEL Belgium of his firm’s unflinching commitment towards an effective implementation of the CLSG project. The General Manager in turn assured the owner’s engineer team of TRANSCO CLSG continual collaboration.
