Monrovia, Liberia, Friday, November 9, 2018: Residents along the Buchanan to Yekepa corridor of the CLSG interconnection project were overwhelmed with excitement Friday when they saw the first transmission tower being erected. The EPC contractor, UTE Elecnor-Eiffage, which is implementing the CLSG Project in the area has erected the first tower in Liberia.
The Project Manager of UTE Elecnor-Effiage, Francois Christiene, in providing the details of the process assured the TRANSCO CLSG Liberia’s Country Manager, Jerry T. Taylor that 12 teams will be deployed to accelerate the erection of the 575 towers over a 230 km corridor, from Buchanan to Yekepa.
The contractors are expected to upscale civil works and other activities to take advantage of the Dry Season.
For the past few months, the EPC contractors have been constructing tower foundations and erecting towers in Sierra Leone and now Liberia – the first being Tower #5 from Buchanan substation towards Yekepa.
