The Vice President of Sierra Leone says his country is fully prepared to light up its communities including schools and hospitals using the CLSG interconnection line. H.E Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh made the statement when he paid a courtesy call on the Management of TRANSCO CLSG at their Abidjan headquarters in Cocody on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
Following his meeting with the President of Cote d’Ivoire, H.E Alassane Dramane Ouattara, and amidst his booked itinerary, the Vice President visited the TRANSCO CLSG offices, where he thanked the General Manager Mohammed M. Sherif and his management team for the enviable progress made in the implementation of the CLSG project across Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.
Dr. Jalloh underscored the economic importance of electricity in any given society and that Sierra Leoneans yearn for stable and affordable electricity. He said the government of Sierra Leone attaches importance to the CLSG project and couldn’t wait to see electricity being brought to the people of Sierra Leone.
This is why he’s leading a high-powered delegation to Abidjan for the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Cote d’Ivoire and the Transmission Service Agreement (TSA) with TRANSCO CLSG.
The Vice President was accompanied by the Minister of Energy of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Kanja Sesay and other senior level officials in the energy sector of Sierra Leone.
