UPDATES
For the Specific case of Sierra Leone, the CLSG project involves the construction of approximately 530km, 225kV power line through eight districts – Pujehun, Kenema, Kono, Tonkolili, Koinadugo, Bombali, Kambia and Karena
IMPLEMENTATION STATUS
- Under the Environment and Social Management Plan (ESMP) and the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), over 400 persons affected by the CLSG project have been compensated in Bombali, Tonkolili, Kabala and Kono Districts. The process is ongoing
- Over 100km of ROW has been handed over to the EPC Contractor (KALPATARU) for physical construction after a successful compensation exercise in the areas
- TRANSCO CLSG has set up Grievance Management Committees for persons affected by the project, Contractors and workers
CONSTRUCTION AND STUDIES
- All studies have been completed
- Land clearing is ongoing, over 100km has been done
- Erection of Transmission Towers has started in the Bombali District
- Construction of substations has started in Kenema, Kono and Bumbuna
