UPDATE:

KALPATARU has built and erected the first transmission tower for the 225Kv power line in Sierra Leone. The milestone event took place on Monday, October 1, 2018 near the existing Bumbuna Hydro power plant.

Freetown, S/Leone, Thursday, September 27, 2018: EPC Contractor, KALPATARU is set to erect the first high voltage transmission tower in Sierra Leone as the CLSG interconnection project remains in full implementation.

With great team work, KALPATARU crew has assembled tower steels and are set to safely erect the first tower on Monday, October 1, 2018 near the existing Bumbuna 1 Hydro Power Plant. This is within the framework of the Transmission Line contract for Lot #4 funded by the World Bank and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Achieving this milestone was no small undertaking with crews assembling tons of tower steel with bolts. “We are few steps closer to bringing power to our people,” says TRANSCO CLSG General Manager, Mohammed M. Sherif.
