• Mitigation measures of the impact on the environment in Côte d’Ivoire

The mitigation measures on the Ivorian environment and wildlife will consist of implementing reforestation programs in order to reconstruct the natural environment.

Those reforestation will not be mono-specific, rather they will involve a mixture of various tree species and in particular protected and endangered species.

The reforestation outcomes should look as much as possible like the natural existing environment.

An effective measure to reduce the impact on the avifauna is to mark out the ground wire conductor cables that protects against atmospheric over voltages with tags “avifauna” (this is usually PVC spirals) in theornithological “hotspots”.

There are indicators of progress in achieving the objectives of the specific activities designed to promote environmental management and review the impacts on affected communities. These indicators will be measured and assessed on a periodic basis (Water Quality Monitoring; Noise Levels Monitoring; Monitoring of Vegetation Clearing; Soil Erosion Monitoring; Monitoring Rehabilitation of Work Sites; and Monitoring of Health status and Accidents).
