The General Manager has praised Mr. Amidou Traore, the outgoing Chairman of the Board of Directors of TRANSCO CLSG, for playing a significant role in taking the CLSG project from concept to reality.
Mr. Mohammed M. Sherif also welcomed Mr. Noumoury Sidibe, the newly appointed Director-General of CI-Energies, as an incoming Board Chairman representing CI-Energies at the Shareholders.
In his statement at the 26th meeting of the Board of Directors on Monday, December 13, 2021, General Manager Sherif hailed the outgoing Board Chairman, Mr. Traore, for his remarkable leadership role in pushing the CLSG interconnection project to where it is today.

Mr. Sherif acknowledged that under Mr. Traore’s guidance, the CLSG project weathered many challenges and achieved critical milestones during the process. He said Mr. Traore demonstrated deep interest and commitment not just to deliver reliable but affordable electricity to the people of the CLSG countries and the ECOWAS region as a whole.
Mr. Traore was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Regulatory Authority for the Electricity Sector of Côte d’Ivoire (ANARE-CI) by H.E Alassane Ouattara, President of Cote d’Ivoire in August 2021.
Mr. Sherif also used the occasion to welcome the new Chairman, Mr. Sidibe. He said TRANSCO CLSG and the Board remain confident that Mr. Sidibe’s expertise will be invaluable to the Board of Directors, the CLSG interconnection project, and the sub-region as the regional company endeavors to deliver reliable, sustainable, and affordable electricity to the CLSG countries and beyond.

In response, Mr. Traore presented best wishes to the Board, the management of TRANSCO CLSG, the Donors, and other stakeholders for their unwavering cooperation towards the successful implementation of the CLSG project.
“I have explicit confidence in Mr. Sidibe’s ability to lead. He will make sure TRANSCO CLSG continues on the progress,” Mr. Traore said. Calling the meeting as his last Board meeting, Mr. Traore extended gratitude to H.E President Ouattara for the renewed trust and opportunity to serve his country and people.
Mr. Traore chaired the meeting via Zoom from Paris, France.
