The General Manager of TRANSCO CLSG visited Liberia and Sierra Leone to conduct site visits along the transmission line and substations. The visit was part of Mr. Mohammed M. Sherif’s mid-term review of the Acceleration Plan which was launched by management to fast track the implementation of the CLSG project in order to meet the December 2019 partial commissioning of the line in Liberia.
In Liberia, the General Manager and team visited the transmission line corridor between Yekepa, Buchanan and Monrovia, the substations including Buchanan and Mount Coffee substations. The tour was guided by the implementing EPC contractors including SIEYUAN, UTE and NCC.
In Sierra Leone, the General Manager visited the substations in Bumbuma, Binkogor and Kenema. He also met with authorities in those districts who expressed happiness about the CLSG project.
Following the tour, the General Manager said he was pleased with the level of construction activities especially with the substations. He called on the contractors to double their efforts to ensure the acceleration plan achieves its objective so that reliable and affordable energy is delivered to the people of Liberia.
