Erick ACHI is TRANSCO CLSG Engineering Coordinator. He has been conducting supervision of the Acceleration Plan (AP) in the transmission line section from Man to Yekepa, under the CLSG interconnection project.
The Acceleration Plan (AP) calls for the fast tracking of the CLSG project implementation to ensure the December 2019 partial commissioning of the transmission line is achieved. Therefore, with the strong support of the donors and TRANSCO CLSG stakeholders, the Plan has been making inroads. The AP is being directed by the General Manager of TRANSCO CLSG, Mohammed M. Sherif.
Erick is confident that by December of 2019, the Yekepa substation would be commissioned with a power flow stretching up to the Liberian capital, Monrovia.
He conducted the supervision mission on the construction site of EPC contractor, Bouygues, which is responsible to construct the 225Kv high voltage transmission line from Man in Cote d’Ivoire to Yekepa in Liberia, sites of KEC and NR Electric which are respectively in charge of the construction of the MAN Substation and the SVC of MAN between Man in Cote d’Ivoire.
About three kilometers from the Border with Liberia, bush clearing and other constriction activities are ongoing. Erick disclosed that Bouygues, KEC and NR Electric have fully mobilized to ensure the AP is fulfilled.
