TRANSCO CLSG has announced the completion of 12 substations and 1303 km of 225kV transmission line across Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea (CLSG), achieving 100% project progress as of December 2024.
In a progress report presented at the 23rd Board Technical Meeting on December 2, 2024, TRANSCO CLSG confirmed that the CLSG project has entered its final implementation phase with the energization of all substations and the 225kV transmission line.
The report highlights that commercial operations of the CLSG network facilities have been ongoing since December 2021. The network is now fully operational, with the contract for the Temporary O&M Operator (CIE) extended until December 2024, covering all facilities, including the 12 substations, 1303 km of transmission line, and the main SCADA system in Nzerekore, with a backup in Man. The remaining tasks include integrating the substations and testing the main SCADA at the Nzerekore substation.
A significant milestone was achieved in the third quarter of 2024 with the successful synchronization of the CLSG and OMVG networks on September 20, 2024. The upcoming quarter will focus on commissioning the main SCADA at the Nzerekore substation and continuing the activities of the O&M operator.
TRANSCO CLSG, along with its technical partners TRACTEBEL, CIE, EPC Contractors, and the CLSG utilities, has maintained close collaboration to address and overcome challenges throughout the project.
